The Scanpan Black Iron Carbon Steel Frypan is made from heavy 2.5–3mm gauge carbon steel — the material of choice in professional kitchens for its ability to handle extreme heat, build up a natural non-stick patina over time, and deliver exceptional searing results. Pre-seasoned with vegetable oil and ready to use straight out of the box.
The long stainless steel handle with steel rivets is built for confident handling at high heat, and the proven functional design is perfect for searing, braising, and any cooking that demands serious heat. Works on all cooktops including induction, and oven safe. The more you use it, the better it performs. Available in 22cm, 26cm and 30cm.

Handwash in hot water only - do not use dishwasher or dishwashing detergent. Follow the care instructions provided or downloadable here.
Please Note when heating your cookware with the following options:
GAS
Do not apply high heat (excessive flames). Always ensure the flame does not extend up the side wall of the cookware, as this could cause damage and/or excessive heat on the handles themselves.
Gas cooktops may have uneven surfaces and should never be left unattended.
Electric/Standard
Ceramic/halogen cooktops - always make sure both the surface of the cooktop and the base of the cookware are clean before each use. Permanent marks may result if this is not done.
Electric/Induction
Induction cooktops - always make sure both the surface of the cooktop and the base of the cookware are clean before each use.
Permanent marks may result if this is not done.
Not all SCANPAN STRATANIUM non-stick cookware is suitable for induction technology. Refer to product packaging.
