This versatile insert makes steaming not only easier but also healthier: pure flavours are preserved, and colour, vitamins, and minerals remain maximally intact. The special silicone sealing ring prevents steam loss and allows multiple steam inserts to be stacked on top of each other. Thanks to the well-thought-out design, you can effortlessly lift the insert off the pot. The stainless steel with Silvinox® technology does not discolour and is easy to clean.

What is Silvinox® and why does it matter?
Silvinox® is Demeyere's patented surface treatment that removes impurities from the stainless steel. It helps the steamer stay brighter, resist fingerprints, and cope better with acidic foods and strong detergents over time.
Is it suitable for beginner cooks as well as experienced ones?
Absolutely. While it's built for professional kitchens, it's even heating and predictable behaviour make it very forgiving for home cooks too.
Before First Use
- Wash your steamer in warm, soapy water, then rinse and dry thoroughly.
Cleaning
- Allow the steamer to cool before washing to avoid thermal shock.
- Handwash with warm water and mild detergent for best long-term performance.
- For stubborn marks or light staining, use a stainless-steel cleaner or a baking soda paste.
- Avoid steel wool or harsh abrasives (a gentle non-scratch pad is fine).
- Dishwasher safe, but frequent dishwashing may dull the Silvinox finish over time.
Storage
- Store with care to protect the surface: nest pans with a cloth or pan protector if stacking.
General Tips
- Over time, slight discolouration or rainbowing is completely normal and does not affect performance. It can be removed with a stainless-steel cleaner if desired.
- Avoid cooking sprays; they can leave a residue.
- If food sticks, simply soak the steamer in warm water before cleaning.
