New Zealand-grown cranberries meet red wine, ginger and star anise in Cranberries Westland Cranberry Compote. Made by hand in small batches here in New Zealand, this whole-cranberry compote brings fruit and fragrant spice to roast dinners and festive gatherings.
The story starts near Hokitika on the wild West Coast of the South Island, where Cranberries Westland tends its cranberries with a patient, hands-on approach. Harvested each autumn, the home-grown berries are turned into artisan products using recipes developed and perfected in the farm kitchen, now produced in a commercial kitchen.
Spoon it alongside turkey, chicken or game meats, or use it as a glaze for ham and pork. It's a lovely jar to have ready for Christmas cooking, and a thoughtful addition to a food hamper celebrating New Zealand-grown and made favourites.

On the wild West Coast of New Zealand’s South Island, Cranberries Westland brings a patient, hands-on approach to growing something a little different. Based near Hokitika, Aotearoa’s only commercial cranberry grower tends North American cranberries that can take up to five years to bear fruit. Good things, it seems, really do take time.
The berries are grown sustainably in pest-free conditions and harvested each autumn, with the same care continuing in the farm kitchen. Here, artisan cranberry products are made by hand in small batches, bringing together home-grown fruit, a curiosity for flavour and a belief in doing things properly.
