WHY ORGANIC COTTON (AND NOT MICROFIBRE)?
Because clean shouldn't come at the planet's expense. Organic cotton is natural, renewable and home compostable - a fibre that comes from the earth and safely returns to it. Microfibre, by contrast, is made from synthetic materials derived from oil. With every wash, these plastics shed tiny fibres that end up in waterways and oceans. Our GOTS-certified organic cotton cloths perform brilliantly, feel beautiful to use, and leave no trace behind.
Before first use:
Soak in cold water with ¼ cup white vinegar for several hours or overnight, then wash as normal. This helps relax the cotton fibres and unlock maximum absorbency.
Everyday care:
- Machine wash up to 60°C with similar colours
- Avoid fabric softeners or bleach. These can coat the fibres and reduce absorbency - the opposite of what you want in a towel!
- Line dry or tumble dry. Tumble drying helps keep towels soft and in shape. If line drying, fold the towel over the line midway - don’t peg it by one corner.
