Nicola Galloway is one of New Zealand’s most respected food writers and photographers, well known for her syndicated columns and award-winning website ‘Homegrown Kitchen’, as well as her book of the same name. She has also built a large following for her sell-out cooking workshops that she runs around New Zealand. ‘The Homemade Table’ is her latest book. It expands on her approach to cooking, which is more than just about preparing homemade meals. It encompasses an inspired way of living and thinking about food that not only feeds the body but also the mind and soul. With many new seasonal recipes, and in-depth sections on sourdough bread, preserves and fermentation, this is a substantial, beautifully illustrated cookbook that the reader will be able to return to again and again. Made to be used, it is Nicola’s hope that ‘The Homemade Table’ will become a well-thumbed favourite, with food-splattered pages and personalised notes in the margin.
