This cloth will give the ultimate finish to appliances, shiny surfaces and glass, as well as being effective at all light cleaning. It absorbs moisture fast and flash-dries to a streak-free finish.

The most versatile cloth, the Glass & Polishing Cloth’s specialist fibre construction and weave increase the speed at which moisture is absorbed, to remove light grease and finger marks from glass and all shiny surfaces, to leave them completely streak-free. It will easily outperform specialist liquid cleaners on surfaces like chrome and glass.

Please note that colours of the cloth may vary.

Use:

The packaging for each cloth gives detailed information but, if you no longer have it, some general tips are:

  • Fold the cloth and use as a pad. This ensures good contact with the surface and that dirt and grease and particles are broken up and collected into the fibres.
  • Use the cloth from side to side or top to bottom, rather than rubbing around the area. This ensures that dirt is collected rather than smeared.
  • Heavy-Duty cloths (see below) may be rinsed as you go. Lighter-Weight cloths (see below) should not be too damp, otherwise moisture residue does not evaporate quickly and the surface may not be left smear-free.
  • e-cloths can be used with other cleaning products, but because e-cloths clean so well with just water, it is not recommended or necessary. Bleach should be avoided as it breaks down the fibres. Effectiveness can be reduced by the fibres becoming clogged by other cleaning agents.

Caring for e-cloths

You can wash as low as 30 degrees C, but most e-cloths can be machine washed at 90°C or boil washed. There are exceptions and all cloths have washing instructions on the label, except for certain lightweight cloths where the cloth’s smear-free performance would be affected by the addition of a stitched edge and label.

For all cloths:

  • A thorough rinse is often enough for day-to-day use.
  • To ensure e-cloths perform at their best, we recommend machine washing, using a small amount of washing powder.
  • Tumble or hang dry.
  • DO NOT use bleach or conditioner. Bleach breaks down the fibres and conditioners will block them.
  • Colour may run - initial washes must be separate at 60c.

Notes:

If fabric conditioner is used by mistake, rewash with a little detergent.

As cloths age, some staining will not come out. Some types of dirt contain a pigment which stains any cloth. If the cloth has been washed properly, it will actually be clean. Repeated washes will gradually reduce marks.

Whilst a standard bleach will damage tea towels and cloths, you can use a natural bleach, such as Ecover.
