Le Creuset

Respect for tradition and authenticity has been Le Creuset's guiding principle since 1925. Their innovative designs and exceptional quality ensure that they remain as relevant today as they were 90 years ago. The company began when Armand Desaegher and Octave Aubecq recognised an opportunity to improve the versatility of cast iron cookware by coating it in a porcelain enamel glaze. They opened their first foundry in Fresnoy-le-Grand in France and produced their first cocotte, or Dutch oven, that same year. Beginning with their signature colour (nowadays called Flame, but originally called Volcanic, which was reminiscent of the orange hue of molten cast iron), their brightly coloured cocottes were soon a very fashionable choice amongst a sea of grey and black cookware. Each piece is still made by hand and each mould is used only once. Le Creuset epitomises Milly’'s philosophy of ‘"buy once and buy well’" and we are truly proud to have such a long history with such an iconic cookware.
