Learn how to work with fondant and gum paste. From covering your cakes to cutting shapes and painting on fondant, you’ll learn all the essentials, and get to create flowers, like calla lilies, roses and carnations!
Your Certified Wilton Method Instructor will help you each step of the way as you learn to:
- Prepare and colour gum paste and fondant
- Cover a cake with fondant
- Create different types of bows and flowers, including the calla lily, rose and carnation
- Discover how easy it is to paint on fondant
- Design and complete a cake with the shapes and flowers from the course
Course Cost $230.00 price includes; classes (4 x 2 hour sessions) & tool kit.
Weekend express classes $269.95 price includes, classes (4x 2hour sessions) & tool kit.
Please Note: In order to attend Course 3 you must have completed Course 1 - Buttercream Basics. You will be sent a list of what you need to bring for the classes on each day, for the weekend express classes your pre-made gumpaste bases for flowers are provided, hence the added expense. Milly’s will continue to observe best practice with regards to health and safety, and hygiene protocols. You will also be able to ‘check in’ using your New Zealand Covid Tracer App. Please note, in order to have the best learning experience, our classes are very ‘hands-on’ and we often require students to gather together to observe demonstrations and to share resources plus your tutor will circulate around the class to provide individual tuition. All our decorating classes are held in our Cake Decorating school at 20 Heather Street, Parnell, Auckland 1010.
